Meghan Krauss

Meghan Krauss was born in 1982 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. She studied photography at the University of Saskatchewan, receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2005. She has worked as an assistant photographer at the University of Saskatchewan Art Collection, and has given photography lectures and led art workshops at several Saskatoon high schools. Krauss has also served as an executive board member of PAVED Arts (2008-2010).

Krauss' photography explores themes including environmental change and industry, and her body of work features photographs from a decade of world travel. In addition to extensive travels through Western Canada, Krauss has traveled to and photographed in the United States, Hong Kong, Nepal, Thailand, Peru, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, Taiwan, and New Zealand.

Krauss' work is part of many private collections, and she has shown her work in several provinces. One recent solo show, a 2011 exhibition at the Mendel Art Gallery, showcased Krauss work produced during a mentorship with Ian Rawlinson. The show, The World Is Too Much With Us, included panoramic urban and landscape photographs from North America, Australia, and Asia.

Krauss has received numerous awards for her work, including prizes at the Saskatoon Exhibition, the Prince Albert Exhibition, and the SaskAmateur Photo Competition (2007).

Meghan Krauss currently lives in Windsor, Ontario, where she is pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of Windsor.
