Reuben Unger

Reuben Unger was born in 1955 in Rosthern, Saskatchewan. A life-long interest in wildlife and particularly birds led him to taxidermy and then to wood carving. He has taken classes through the Saskatchewan River Valley Art School and continues to expand his skills through wood carving classes and seminars.

Unger's work has been exhibited across the prairies and is represented in collections in Canada, the United States, and Sweden. Unger has competed successfully in wildlife art and carving competitions throughout western Canada and has received commissions for his work.

Unger is involved with the Saskatchewan Wildlife Art Association, in which he serves on the executive. He has also been active in organization the largest wildlife art show in western Canada, the Reflections of Nature Art Show and Competition.

Unger lives in Clavet, Saskatchewan, where he works from his home studio.
