Saskatchewan Craft Council
SCC hosts the annual Saskatchewan Handcraft Festival, in Battleford
Saskatchewan Craft Council
The Saskatchewan Craft Council (SCC) was founded in 1975 by 52 artisans who wanted to unite to promote their work, network with each other, and improve their skills. The Council's first few years saw the organization of workshops in a variety of mediums, including stained glass, felting, weaving, jewellery making, and pottery. The SCC's annual exhibition, Dimensions, has been held since 1976 and today tours around Saskatchewan and beyond. Each year, the SCC hosts art and craft markets in Regina (Wintergreen), Saskatoon (Waterfront), and Battleford (Saskatchewan Handcraft Festival).
In addition to its markets and exhibitions, the SCC provides members with exposure through its website and operates Affinity Gallery in Saskatoon. The SCC also provides educational opportunities through workshops and lectures.
