Rhonda Neufeld

Rhonda Neufeld was born in Abbottsford, British Columbia, and earned a printmaking diploma in Vancouver and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design (1992) before coming to Saskatchewan to earn her Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of Regina in 1996. While at the U of R, she also taught introductory print media (1995) and was recognized with an award for Excellence in Scholarly Research (1996).

Neufeld's teaching has continued in various locations in Manitoba, Alberta, and particularly British Columbia. She has led printmaking workshops in numerous cities and has taught drawing and printmaking at Kwantlen University College (Surrey, 2006-2007) and the Alberta College of Art and Design (Calgary, 2008-2009). Neufeld was a visiting artist at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design in 2010.

Neufeld works in installation and drawings, although print is her primary medium with a practice including lithography, relief, intaglio, and screen printing. Neufeld has exhibited in group and solo shows throughout Western Canada since the early 1980s. In 2007, Neufeld began collaborating with fellow artist Rodney Konopaki; the two work on a single drawing board to create works that synthesize their individual practices. Their joint exhibitions of new work has been exhibited at several public and commercial galleries since 2010, including a 2012 exhibition at Saskatoon's The Gallery / art placement.

Neufeld's work is represented in the collections of the University of Regina, Grand Forks Art Gallery, Malaspina Printmakers Society Archives (Vancouver), Government of British Columbia, Burnaby Art Gallery, Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre (Medicine Hat), and St. Michael's Printshop (St. John's), as well as in private collections.
