Jim Brompton
Jim Brompton was born in 1956 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. Essentially self taught, he has been doing photography seriously since 1978, specializing in landscape, nature and fine art photography.
Brompton's work has been exhibited widely in Saskatchewan and British Columbia, including group exhibitions at the Art Preserve (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan), Whistler Art Gallery (BC), Urban Art (Langley BC), and several solo exhibitions at Meadow Lake Provincial Park (northern Saskatchewan).
Brompton lives in Maple Ridge, BC, but spends much of each summer at his residence at Greig Lake, Saskatchewan (within Meadow Lake Provincial Park).
Brompton's work is known for its purity and clarity, and its lack of apparent manipulation. "It is my goal," Brompton says, "to capture rarely viewed scenes…in a way that the depth and detail are remarkable."
Jim Brompton continues to live in Maple Ridge, BC, while spending summers near Greig Lake, Saskatchewan.
