D.J. Tapaquon (Darnell) was born in 1977 in Regina, Saskatchewan, a member of the George Gordon First Nation. He started painting at age sixteen and gallery representation soon followed. From that time Tapaquon has split his time between Regina, Vancouver and Winnipeg.
