Ernie Scoles
Ernie Scoles was born in Cumberland House, Northern Saskatchewan, in 1962. He was raised in Northern Manitoba and is a member of the Barren Lands First Nation. His art expresses his love of nature and his Cree heritage, and is influenced by his friend and mentor the late Isaac Bignell. In 1992 Scoles was awarded the Governor General’s Canada 125 medal, and in 2002 the Queen Elizabeth Golden Jubilee Medal. His work is held in public and private collections across Canada. Ernie Scoles lives and works in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
